Heartsaver Firstaid CPR and AED Course Start Date Dec 12th, 2018

Course Description: This American Heart Association Heartsaver Adult First Aid with CPR and AED course was developed on the basis of evidence-based guidelines. It is a modular course that includes essential information and training in the first-aid skills recommended by OSHA and provides the skills to effectively assess and maintain life from the critical minutes immediately following an emergency, until the arrival of emergency medical services personnel. The course provides a complete health and safety training solution for first aid, adult CPR, and AED.

Its highly effective video based practice while watching instruction format enables students to experience case-based scenarios in a realistic setting. Instructors introduce a topic, then show a video segment; students practice the skill, one at a time, while watching the video. The Instructor also presents cases for discussion.

Intended Audience: Persons assigned to respond to emergencies in the workplace or community as well as those who want to learn first aid, CPR and AED skills. Some rescuers are required to take this course as part of their employer’s efforts to comply with OSHA regulations, e.g., corporate employees, security guards, airline personnel, lifeguards and other individuals who want or need first aid training. The course text book is required for each student. If you are ordering with less than 7 business days we recommend you select in class pickup. If we cannot send your book to you quick enough to be sure of it showing up before your class, we bring your text to class.

After successful completion of the class students will earn a course completion certification card valid for 2 years.

The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.
